I'm sorry for the loss of 'Tante Babette'. I remember the first time we met. I was young and naive and didn't speak a word of French (or not that anyone could understand!) - it was in the home in the countryside (Strijtem) - we had lots of parties there with Benoit and his friends. Often during the weekends, especially Sundays we would visit and Tante Babette would be there - fussing in the kitchen with food and drinks and making sure everyone was looked after. She was always kind to me despite our not really understanding each other! I remember her then, and since, laughing and smiling nearly all the time. She also had a sense of humour that I think was a bit mischievous (in a good way!)
